Santa Maria dei Carmini Church

Few steps away from Campo Santa Margherita, the church stands right beside the school which has the same name and very antique origins: constructions started during 1286 and after around 50 years it was consecrated during the first half of 1300.
Two statues of the prophets Elia and Eliseo, founders of the Carmelitani order, are on the roof (front side), and at the top of the Sardi’s bell tower we can admire a statue dedicated to Carmine’s Virgin (this is the second edition because the first one was destroyed by a thunder).
As every single spot in Venice the church has a lot of very important artistic works, like Presentation at the Temple of Tintoretto, Shepard Adoration of Gianbattista Cima da Conegliano and other works of Jacopo Palma il Giovane.
